BUCKET CLOTH PORCELAIN

These works focus on folds and tears in cloth left after various domestic actions - dropped in buckets, on shelves, hooked over broom handles, hanging. Torn edges express ‘the unfinished work’ and serves to touch space delicately and questioningly. Reminiscent of classical cloth-draped figurative sculpture in churches and public squares it is the cloth here that becomes heroic, glorifying the everyday.
